May 2009

+   Wilburforce Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Amy McNamara as Program Associate for the Yellowstone to Yukon program, effective May 11, 2009.

As Program Associate for the Yellowstone to Yukon program, Amy will assist with all aspects of Wilburforce’s grantmaking in the region.  She will be based in our Bozeman, Montana field office and will work closely with Jennifer Miller, Program Officer for Y2Y.

Amy comes to Wilburforce from the Greater Yellowstone Coalition in Bozeman, where she directed the National Park Program for the past five years.  GYC is dedicated to protecting the lands, waters, and wildlife of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, now and for future generations. Amy has worked with local residents, businesses, conservation partners, and elected officials to ensure Greater Yellowstone's national parks continue to be the crown jewels of the region and the National Park System.

Before joining GYC's staff, Amy worked for the Appalachian Mountain Club – a regional conservation and recreation organization in the Northeastern US. There Amy worked on private land conservation issues, public funding for land protection, and forest planning. Amy has an MS in Biology from the University of Louisville and a BA in Biology from Colgate University.  In her free time, you will likely find Amy hiking, backpacking, biking or skiing in the Greater Yellowstone.
